Why Is It Free?
Most cloud-based online video editors charge to remove watermarks because they render your video on their servers. Every export costs them real money in compute time. They pass that cost to you in the form of a monthly subscription or per-export fee.
Klipworm is architecturally different. Every render — every frame of your export — runs on your GPU, inside your browser, using WebGL and WebAssembly. We have zero server-side rendering costs. When you export a 4K video, it costs us nothing, because your graphics card did all the work.
That means there is no business reason to add a watermark or charge for exports. The free price isn't a marketing strategy — it's what falls out of the architecture.
We may in future offer optional account features (cloud backup, sync across devices). If we do, the local editor — including everything listed above — will remain free.

Is Klipworm really free? What's the catch?
There is no catch. Klipworm runs all video processing on your own device using your CPU and GPU. We don't pay cloud server costs per export, so we have no financial reason to charge for exports or add watermarks. The editor is free because the architecture makes it possible to be free.
Will you add a paid plan in the future?
We have no current plans to introduce a paid tier. If that ever changes, we will announce it well in advance and ensure that all existing free features remain available to current users. The core editor — including 4K export, AI captions, and all current features — will always have a free path.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can open the editor and start working immediately without signing up. An optional account lets you access additional features as we build them, but the full editor is available as a guest.
Is the free export really watermark-free?
Yes, completely. There is no Klipworm logo, no badge, no overlay on your exported video at any resolution. What you make is yours, with no branding from us.
What happens to my projects if I clear my browser data?
Projects are saved locally in your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage. Clearing your browser's site data will delete those projects. We recommend exporting finished videos to your hard drive as your primary backup.
Can I use Klipworm commercially?
Yes. You can create and export videos for commercial use — ads, client deliverables, YouTube monetization, social media campaigns. Just make sure you have the appropriate rights to all media you use in your projects (music, footage, images).
